Stewpot Community Services was named Best Non-Profit Organization in the 2009 Best of Jackson Awards by the Jackson Free Press!The organization was founded in 1981 by several Jackson congregations to provide assistance to residents of central Jackson who were in need of food, shelter, clothing, love, and encouragement. Over the past 25 years, Stewpot has grown from its original ministry, the Community Kitchen, to a faith-based organization encompassing more than 17 ministries. Today, more than 70 congregations support Stewpot.
